Once upon a time a family member asked ‘If you could go anywhere, where would you want to go’. I think their intention was to find a way to arrange something fun for us to do but, I couldn’t answer the question. I’d gotten so used to my illness and disabilities limiting me, that I had no real desire to go anywhere. Not because I didn’t want to, but because I hadn’t got the energy.
Having Jessy as a caregiver changed that. She goes above and beyond when it comes to thinking outside of the box. It’s brought me to a point where I see possibilities and have developed the skills to balance my energy. It doesn’t mean there aren’t limitations. There’s no miracle cure for the physical challenges I face but in many cases, there are workarounds.
Thanks to Jessy it’s the second time in four years that I’ve been able to go with her for a vacation in Greece. Thanks to her curiosity, persistance and very generous nature, it’s the first time i’ve ever been able to take a DSLR camera with me.
