I was surpised to feel quite good as I woke up on Wednesday morning. I don’t usually sleep well on a flat bed. My adjustable bed at home has been my friend for many years and acommodates the hyper mobile joints very well. So to wake up feeling refreshed after sleeping on a box spring, was a pleasant experience.
A quick meeting with a Tui representative after breakfast, was followed by drinks on a terrace while we waited for the blue village train. We wanted to go to the top of the hill where the Burcht – also known as the Castle of Molyvos is located. We were eager, so of course we were early. Resulting in us deciding to ride to Anaxos and back through Petra before heading to our destination. Luckily the open air train ride is the perfect way to sit and snap photos. Once you’ve got over the fact that even parts of the road are made from cobblestone and EVERYTHING bounces. Including your butt.
The views from the top of the hill are stunning. So we took time to make even more photos before settling at the restaurant for lunch. Then we started our decent down the hill on foot. Capturing more scenary along the way, before arriving at the bustling streets full of shops where souvaniers were purchased.
We took the train back to Petra and enjoyed some pool time, followed by a game of Skip-Bo and a short rest before heading into Petra’s village square for dinner. I don’t have a photo of the Chicken Pita bread Wrap I ate, but I promise it was delicious.
We closed out the evening with a walk through Petra’s streets, where I took some time to admire the church. The perfect way to wind down before bed time.
